Hey, it’s Mr. “I’m a PC” from the apple commercials on the Daily Show. I really enjoy that show, pretty funny. He’s here to discuss the current hot topic of Net Neutrality. I actually wrote to Gordon Smith (my senator) in order to express that he should side with Net Neutrality. Of course, he actually took the side of those major telecommunication companies. I guess they pay more. According to him, “Consumers are demanding better networks to satisfy their growing demands for music downloads, video-streaming, Internet based phone services, and other innovative services. Innovation is important and I am concerned that placing new regulations on the Internet with “net neutraility” legislation we may slow new technologies from being developed.”
The irony is that the opposite would probably happen. As John Hodman’s said quite well, the playing field is way too level right now. Big corporations need a way to crush their rivals.
